Trainee and Early Career Psychiatrist Outreach and Education Network
We are a group of medical students, residents, fellows, and early career psychiatrists (ECP) who connected through the American Association for Community Psychiatry’s Communications & Collaborations committee meetings in 2023. Our mission is to create opportunities to inspire, educate, and connect trainees and ECPs interested in community psychiatry! Here you can learn more about the AACP, our projects, and ways to get involved.

The Community Psychiatry Instagram
The AACP has a new instagram page founded in April 2023. The purpose of the AACP instagram is to generate more awareness and understanding of community psychiatry and the AACP, as well as to create a community of trainees and professionals in community psychiatry.
If you are interested in collaborating with us on social media, email Jean Wu and Hannah Lynch. Previous collaborations have included Day in the Life posts and Instagram takeovers at national meetings. We offer national visibility with averages of 1000 accounts reached each month. Follow us here.
The AACP has a new mentorship program founded this August 2023. Our goal is to bring together trainees and early career psychiatrists with established community psychiatrists. This will help to promote professional, personal, and academic development of both mentors and mentees while fostering our growing community in public psychiatry.
This year we had about 100 people sign up and, by using a variant of the famous residency match algorithm, we were able to create 55 pairs of mentors and mentees with a 100% match rate. New mentor and mentee applications have closed for the 2023-2024 cycle. Please check back later for new applications.
